Description
Watford Borough Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors for the refurbishment of the Stables building and integral multi-sport changing rooms situated within Woodside Playing Fields. The changing rooms are accommodated within a locally listed heritage building known as the stables which originally formed part of the Woodside manor and farm. Watford Borough Council acquired the park in 1948, and the house and farm were demolished in 1959 and stable buildings retained for use as changing rooms and for the Council’s Parks Department Depot. The work will primarily address the fabric repairs and improvements reported in the Stock condition surveys carried out in 2025 which reported on the condition windows, internal and external doors, gutters, roof, soffits and facias as well as internal flooring, timbers, decoration, sanitaryware, toilets, local ventilation, etc. Additional improvements will include the conversion of an existing toilet to an accessible toilet including the provision of an external ramp.
