Ulster University shall avail of a Direct Award Contract (DAC) due to Oxford University Press being the sole supplier of this content due to exclusive publishing rights as confirmed by a Sole Publisher Letter. Textbooks remain fundamental to legal education, particularly for students encountering complex legal principles for the first time. Law Trove provides access to many of the leading texts recommended on module reading lists and offers powerful search functionality, cross-linking, accessibility features and multi-device access. The resource enjoys strong support from the School of Law and is embedded within teaching across the curriculum. Therefore the justification that is applicable is Schedule 5 Paragraph 5 - Single Supplier - Intellectual Property or Exclusive Rights: The following conditions are met in relation to the public contract- (a) due to a particular supplier having intellectual property rights or other exclusive rights, only that supplier can supply the goods, services or works required, and (b) there are no reasonable alternatives to those goods, services or works.
