Der Hessische Rundfunk betreibt zur Vernetzung seiner Hauptstandorte in Hessen das "hr-RegioNet", ein Breitband-Weitverkehrsnetz. Die Adaptionstechnik auf das Weitverkehrsnetz wird selbst betrieben. Eingesetzt werden netzeinheitlich Geräte des schwedischen Herstellers Net Insight. Das hr-RegioNet wird, inkl. der Adaptionstechnik, unterjährig an die sich verändernden Leistungsanforderungen angepasst. Voraussetzung für die Gewährleistung eines sicheren Betriebs der Adaptionstechnik ist, neben dem Vorhandensein der Geräte, auch ein Supportvertrag für die eingesetzte Hard- und Software des Herstellers Net Insight.
