Description

Gateshead Council requires an independent specialist provider to undertake lift maintenance audit services across its residential portfolio. The service will provide planned annual audits of passenger lifts within high and mid-rise residential buildings, together with a rolling programme of audits covering domestic lifting equipment including stairlifts, platform lifts and hoists. The contract will also provide technical advice and professional support to Council officers responsible for building safety and lift maintenance management. The audits are intended to provide independent assurance regarding compliance, maintenance standards, resident safety, contractor performance and value for money across the Council's lift maintenance arrangements. The requirement also responds to recommendations made by the Council's technical advisor, Pennington Choices.
