Ireland – Technical testing services – ET2607 - Provision of an Interactive and Connected Breathalyser Terminal Service
awardedDescription
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is cancelling the procurement procedure for the Provision of an Interactive and Connected Breathalyser Terminal Service (Reference: ET2607) with immediate effect. This procurement is being cancelled in its entirety following the instruction of the Minister of State with Responsibility for Road Safety, Seán Canney. While the Government and the RSA maintain the position that any consumption of alcohol impairs driving ability, the Minister has determined that providing facilities to check breath-alcohol levels contradicts this principle, as the public safety message must remain absolute: never drink and drive. As a consequence, the competition is being closed, and the scheduled Tenderers' Briefing session and upcoming deadlines are cancelled. The RSA regrets any inconvenience this sudden cancellation may cause and appreciates the time and interest shown in the Competition.
