Helsingin yliopisto kilpailuttaa puitesopimuskumppaneita yliopistorakennusten peruskorjaus ja muutostyöhankkeiden rakennustöiden valvontatehtäviin. Hankkeet ovat pääosin peruskorjaushankkeita ja tilamuutoshankkeita, joiden valvontatehtäviin tämä hankinta kohdistuu. Yliopistojen tiloista noin 40 % on opetus-, tutkimuslaboratorio- ja erityistiloja ja noin 30 % toimistotyötiloja. Rakennuskanta on eri ikäistä ja osa rakennuksista on suojeltuja.
